Church of Lucifer & Cult of the Lone Goat
We're a non-theistic philosophy centered on intellectual freedom, critical thinking, and the pursuit of liberating knowledge.
Who is Lucifer? Lucifer isn't a literal being. And hopefully by now you've done enough research to know he's not "the Devil."
The name Lucifer means "light-bearer" (from Latin: lux + ferre) and refers to the morning star, Venus. In ancient Greco-Roman tradition, Lucifer symbolizes enlightenment, wisdom, and the pursuit of knowledgeβnot evil or corruption.
Our Philosophy: We approach Lucifer as a philosophical symbol, not a deity. Just as different cultures and eras have interpreted this figure differently, we too have our interpretation. We focus on the ancient representation: a symbol of intellectual liberation and the courage to seek truth. We're interested in practical ideas, not worship.
What We Stand For: We demystify the mystical through reason and evidence. Rather than accepting things on faith, superstition, or tradition, we ask questions and follow where the answers lead. Our approach values curiosity over certainty and inquiry over dogmaβregardless of where that dogma comes from.
